The venue
The largest stadium in South America, due for new sound
Estadio Más Monumental in Buenos Aires is the home ground of Club Atlético River Plate and seats more than 85,000 people. On match day the bowl, the concourses, and the hospitality areas all carry sound at once, which makes even coverage a hard problem to solve.
The stadium's previous audio system had become obsolete, and spare parts for maintenance were no longer available. Keeping the old rig running was no longer an option — a full replacement was.

The challenge
Cover a stadium this size — and run it from one room
A venue above 85,000 seats has to push real power into the bowl while staying intelligible from the front rows to the back, across the concourses, and through the hospitality spaces. The old system could not do that consistently, and it could no longer be maintained.
The stadium also needed a failure-safe public address and voice alarm system, and a way to manage every zone centrally rather than chasing settings around the building.
The solution
One networked system, controlled from a single room
ARS Technologies specified a full Electro-Voice and Dynacord system sized to the stadium. The bowl is covered by 46 Electro-Voice EVH-1152 horn-loaded point-source loudspeakers, 8 EVF-1122D front-loaded loudspeakers, and 49 EVC-1122 loudspeakers, with more than 100 EVID-S systems handling the concourses and hospitality areas.
Dynacord IPX5:4 and IPX10:8 networked power amplifiers drive the system over an OMNEO and Dante network, with SONICUE Sound System Software tying every zone into one control point. A Praesensa public address and voice alarm system covers the safety-critical side.

The result
The whole stadium hears the same clear sound
The new system delivers even sound distribution across the venue, so the difference between a seat near a loudspeaker and one far from it has gone. River Plate's audio team can now manage every zone from a single location and remotely, without standing in the control room.
For ARS Technologies, the goal was a system that met the stadium's expectations within its budget — and the result, in the words of the people who run it, has been a complete change.
